We offer entrance matting BIM data for a selection of our Geggus products, enabling the design of entrance areas to be easily incorporated during the design stages of a new development or building refurbishment.
Building Information Modelling (BIM) is a model-based process for co-ordinated planning and operation of construction and infrastructure projects. BIM involves the generation and management of digital models that represent physical and functional characteristics of buildings, capturing and combining all the relevant structure data to create models of all elements of a building project. In order to create accurate BIM models, collaboration between all stakeholders is crucial.
The process of creating BIM data requires traditional architectural drawings being transformed into three dimensional digital models. Other data collected in the process of creating BIMs includes: material types required; order volumes; time scales and operator data. BIM provides a detailed information network for all stakeholders involved in the designing of buildings, allowing for extensive planning and operation of projects. The use of BIM in the design process allows for potential improvements to be made obvious, enabling designs and plans to change. This allows for improvements to be made cost-effectively once a project has started on site, and avoids any costly planning errors.
Our Geggus entrance matting BIM data* is hosted on the Polantis website, a website designed specifically for downloading BIM and CAD objects. There are a couple of ways to access our Geggus entrance matting BIM data on the Polantis website:
Directly from the Polantis Website
You can download our entrance matting BIM data directly from the Polantis website here. Once on the Geggus section of the Polantis website, you will be able to choose which product you would like to download BIM data for. Select the product, then on the products page you need to click ‘download object’ and select the desired file type. You will then be prompted to either sign-in or sign-up using email, Facebook, LinkedIn or a Google account. Once logged in, your download will begin.
Direct Links to BIM Download on Polantis Website from Geggus Product Pages
For the products that have BIM data, on the Geggus website Product Page you will see in the top description the link ‘download BIM data’. Click on this link and it will take you to the product’s specific product page on the Polantis website. From here, you can follow the steps outlined above to download the entrance matting BIM data.
*Please note that as we are working on expanding our entrance matting BIM data, currently not all our products have available data.
